                    Lusaka Ministerial College

The Lusaka Ministerial College was established in May, 2010 for the training of pastors in the compound churches of Lusaka.  There are several highly populated and very poor communities in Lusaka called "compounds" or “shanty-towns”.  About four of these are all within walking distance of each other.  James’ burden from the beginning in coming to Zambia was to provide training to those who do not presently have access to it, and that happens to be most of those pastors who live in the compounds.

Most of them have had almost no training prior to going into the ministry, and are therefore propagating a confused and misinformed message which is not reaping real, lasting change among the people of Zambia.  Many get their cues from the TV preachers which are piped in from the states-especially the shallow, gaudy, emotion-driven sort you see on TBN.  But several are hungry for more than what they've seen there, and we are seeking to identify and train such men.

Classes meet on Wednesdays and Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.,  covering five to seven subjects - depending on the term.  The college follows the school schedule in Zambia, meeting for three terms of about three months each per year.

Below is a video of one of the Zambian pastors, Ronald Kalifungwa, explaining the concept of ancestral worship in the African context.
